Cloudcroft and High Rolls VFD helps KCC remove graffiti from the Tunnel Vista

Hello beautiful people of Cloudcroft!  Keep Cloudcroft Clean wants to thank all our donators and every single one of you who’ve come to volunteer at our clean-ups!  You’ve made a huge impact on keeping our village and surrounding trails beautiful.  Thank you!!

Since our last article in June, Keep Cloudcroft Clean has had five wonderful clean-ups!  After the 4th of July, Dry Canyon was in pretty bad shape after the campers left.  We had a GREAT turnout of 13 volunteers and picked up 76.558 pounds of trash.  Almost everyone who attended were new volunteers.  

August’s clean-up was held at the Sacramento Mountains Museum in Cloudcroft (which was actually in great shape after the Art & Wine Festival.  They did a wonderful clean-up job after the festival.,,) and East Burro Street behind the museum which was disgusting.  We picked up 89.14 pounds of trash with 14 volunteers.

In September, KCC was recruited to help deconstruct a structure on the Sleepygrass Trail which was a terrible fire hazard.  This isn’t something we normally do, but we felt this could help protect the Village.  We obliged and were happy to do so!  We had three people with chainsaws for a total of nine volunteers.  The structure built around the tree is gone and looks beautiful now!

The Cloudcroft Volunteer Fire Department partnered with us for our October clean-up by helping us clean the graffiti in the parking lot and rocks at the Tunnel Vista.  There were places that were too dangerous for our volunteers.  The CC VFD graciously volunteered and supplied much needed equipment including water, ropes, and a pressure washer that KCC doesn’t have.  Village Hardware also provided a pressure washer for us, too.  You all ROCK (pun intended)!!  And don’t forget about our AMAZING volunteers!!  You guys keep us going.

The Cloudcroft Cross Country team and Keep Cloudcroft Clean partnered for our November 1st clean-up of Zenith Park.  They’ll travel to the District
